BORA  is beautiful geometric design handloom rug, handwoven by a heritage artisan family and one of the last few of its kind in the community. These master weavers are based in a small village in India with whom Studio variously exclusively collaborates for high quality small batch production of handloom rugs.

Ethically made, BORA  rug is a Classic neutral piece that will compliment in any interior space with its earthy palette and geometrically handwoven patterns. For Bora rug we are using only the 100% natural wool which is completely naturally dyed by the artisans using organic materials like tree bark, eucalyptus and herbs. Each batch of organic dye is made separately and custom to ensure richness in colors. Complete process is done by hand, which mean each piece is unique and one of a kind. A classic rug, BORA  is a sustainably made rug that enhances interior spaces and also supports artisan communities ethically.

BORA  rug is a simplified reflection of the wave patterns found in the clothing patterns of the artisans. 100% handspun wool and organic dyes made completely by the artisan’s families have been used in this rug. This artisan family is a 5th generation family of master craftsmen who have been handed down a unique technique of weaving rugs on an ancient loom from their fore fathers , which dates back hundreds of years. We personally collaborate with the family and intend to wholeheartedly support their indigenous craft as there are very few families left now who can weave on this particular ancient loom.
